Philosophy
What we do:
We design and handcraft high-quality artist instruments according to your specifications. We use only the finest, aged woods. We flexibly address individual requirements and implement them to the highest quality standards. We don’t copy, but rather develop our own innovative solutions. The guitar is built like a bespoke suit „around the customer.“ If THE perfect model for THE customer doesn’t yet exist, it simply has to be conceived. Following the principle: „Form follows function.“
We can also rebuild and customize one of our guitars that you particularly liked.
How we do it:
We believe that together we can achieve more!
I take the necessary time for a thorough consultation. In our testing room, you can play and compare guitars at your leisure. You are also welcome to bring your reference guitar and a second guitarist. Naturally, this is best done by appointment. During these „player analyses,“ we often discover previously hidden needs, perhaps testing a shorter scale length or a different neck width, discussing various woods…
But we’re not at the doctor’s office here; everything is very relaxed, and good coffee or tea will be available!
We work in an environmentally conscious and inherently sustainable way.
After all, what could be more sustainable than creating a product from a single piece of wood that can be used for many decades, is repairable, and doesn’t depreciate in value? We frequently recycle components, for example, from decommissioned pianos (soundboards), furniture, or the naturally heat-treated wood from an old sauna. You can specifically order these. Choosing a guitar without tropical woods is also possible. In these cases, we use local woods such as plum, walnut, olive, maple, and similar species. Our machines run on 100% renewable energy.
We thrive on the creative exchange in our shared workshop, currently with two independent luthiers and one or two employees. I deliberately sought out this opportunity and set up the shared workshop. Ideas are discussed and filtered, reinforced, or even discarded. This mutual feedback is invaluable and also good for morale.

What inspires us:
The beauty of nature. When we select magnificent new woods from our stock and assemble them into an instrument in the best possible way, this creative process is incredibly motivating and fulfilling.
What inspires us:
The beauty of nature. When we select new, magnificent woods from our stock and assemble them into the best possible instrument, this creative process is enormously motivating and fulfilling. When a musician recounts how the inspiration for a piece of music came from the instrument itself, or when a customer’s playing develops positively in tandem with their new instrument.
We want to bring joy and make our work enjoyable. To that end, we constantly challenge ourselves in terms of both quality and design. For us, work is a calling – anything else would be pointless.
What makes us different: You can buy attention with a large advertising budget, endorsements, etc. – or you can earn it with good work and word-of-mouth. We prefer the latter. A good product is its own best advertisement. It may take longer for word to spread, but slow growth is also healthy growth. Our goal is to convince and satisfy our customers 100%! That’s how you achieve multiplication.
What we can’t do: Compete with large manufacturers in terms of price, quantity, and delivery time. Handcrafted, one-of-a-kind pieces require effort and have their price. In return, you receive a guaranteed unique product with genuine added value. And that can’t be readily available.
Given our natural limitations and resources in terms of time, labor, wood storage, and workshop size, we produce approximately 15 to 18 instruments per year. Variations due to human error are possible.
We hope you now have a clear picture of us. We are happy to discuss any remaining questions with you.
I cordially invite you to decide whether a Stark guitar is the right choice for you! Get a feel for the instruments and try them out as many as possible to help you make your own decision.
